If we sacrifice the lives of others to an idol, we are appeasing the Devil's endless thirst for blood
(Prov.30:15; Prov.30:16CSB ; Isa.5:14CSB; Rev.9:11CSB; Prov.15:11CSB ).
Satan especially desires to destroy the anointed seed of the covenant
(Gal.4:26; Rev.12:17; Luke 22:31; 1Pet.5:8; Mark13:13; Eph.6:12; John16:33,20-21; Matt.24:8,21-22; 2Tim.3:12).
[(https://pearl-sign.blogspot.com)<copy to address bar]
Those who mislead the anointed by the spirit of demons, sacrifice them to Satan (Rev.2:20; 1Tim.4:1; Rev.16:13,15; 13:7)(1John3:12-15).
It is righteous justice therefore, that those guilty of this (Rev.18:24; Matt.23:29-36; Rev.11:3,7-8), are assigned the same judgment they meted out (Rev.18:6; Matt.7:2; 2Thess.1:6). Those who throw into the fire, are thrown into the fire.
--- As regards God's justification for the killing of the firstborn of Egypt; we can apply the same standards.
Ex.1:7-10,15-16,22 tells us of Egypt's decree against the males born to Israel. Due to the size of the Israelite nation at that time; We can assume that thousands were murdered. Otherwise, the mother of Moses would not have had to hide her son for fear of his being killed (Ex.2:2-3).
God did not ignore the murder of those babies, nor forget it. It's also reasonable to assume that Pharaoh knew these facts. God not only decided to once again, dispense eye-for-eye justice, but to also protect the sons of Israel from further destruction during the Passover.
The Great Tribulation brings a similar situation in a spiritual sense (Mark 13:17) and similar consequences (Rev.2:20,23)(Isa.47:8; Rev.18:7-8).Pearl Doxseyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13281232149590681155noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2351031034944711329.post-47567584985441175322024-01-21T11:29:38.287-08:002024-01-21T11:29:38.287-08:00I understand that God allows people to be handed o...I understand that God allows people to be handed over to the "father" that they choose to listen to and imitate and that that father administers the discipline.
At 1 Corinthians 5:5 Paul says to hand this man over to Satan with the hope that this discipline will save their souls. He also tells Timothy at 1 Timothy 1:20 something similar.
When the Israel requested to have a King over them as the nations around them had, God chose to allow it, but told the prophet what the consequences for having a human king would be for them and their children. Once again the people chose, and God allowed it.
If the people of God tolerated and participated in the worship of Moleck, then I can understand God consigning those idolaters to the desires of their own god. If JW leaders are willing to offer the life of the anointed up, in sacrifice to Satan, then it makes sense that God would consign they themselves to be sacrificed to that same god and his fire of Gehenna.
God said in Genesis 1:31 that everything that God created was good. So it stands to reason that anything bad came from a different spirit source...like Gehenna as you say here.
One last thing...How does God justify the killing of the firstborn of Egypt in payment for the saving of the firstborn of Israel?
Thank You. I wanted to address that.
God's discipline usually involves handing us over to the god/idol/nation that we have chosen to put our trust into, seen clearly is His abandoning us to the torment of the WT/elders/Locust-scorpions until we finally turn back to putting our trust in Him, rather than this Idol.
When Israel wanted to replace the sovereignty of God through the prophet God was using, and transfer the form of leadership over to a king (as the other nations have -1Sam.8:6-22), God warned them that although He was granting their desire, they would have to accept the negativity of a human king, as God was warning them. So the point being again, that our need for divine disciple, is justly meted out, by the counterfeit spiritual shelter we desire and serve.
Getting back to Matt.10:28
We've just learned about how our punishment is tailored to our sin. The sin of the worshipers of Molech, was their voluntary offering of their firstborn into Molech's altar of flames. They knew that all firstborn specifically, belonged to God (Num.3:13)<[Egyptian firstborn a ransom for Israel's firstborn, just as what occurs in the time of the end (Isa.43:4; Rev.12:15-16).]
(see https://4womaninthewilderness.blogspot.com/2012/12/earth-swallows-satans-river-rev1216.html )<<(copy to address bar)
The firstborn sons are a symbol for the anointed (2Thess.2:13; James1:18). The steward is charged with being a spiritual parent/caregiver, who throws the newly born anointed, into the furnace of affliction (Rev.9:2-4), offering up their lives to the beast. Perfect justice is to consign the false prophet, Satan, and beast, to the Lake of Fire/Gehenna, along with all who have shared in that sin against God's flock (Eze.14:4,10; 34:10; Rev.13:8; 20:15). It was never a part of God's desire to create Gehenna or to use it. Gehenna is the creation of the wicked one. The Devil is the one who created persecution, Idolatry, and Death. Those who wield that evil power, will be consigned to it. - I hope that this helps to clear up the seeming contradiction between Jer.19:5 and Matt.10:28YLT .Pearl Doxseyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13281232149590681155noreply@blogger.com
